Lolly, Lolly, Lolly get your adverbs here....
I caNOT get that song out of my head! Raise your hand if you STILL love School House Rock! It's good stuff!
Last week we worked on adverbs. They can be so tricky for little ones. Are they adjectives, or adverbs, or do they describe a noun, maybe they are a preposition....oh, it is just confusing for them!
We started things off with Brain Pop and School House Rock. They save the day every single time! You can find those videos here and here.
Afterwards we made these Clip and Flip books and sorted by adjectives and adverbs.
Once we had down what an adverb is, we then started looking at the different types of adverbs -how, when, and where. Each kiddo got a sticky note with an adverb on it. We sorted them onto the correct category.
Next up, they sorted these words independently in their reading journals.
We also wrote different adverbs for each.
Once we had down which adverbs went with which, we worked on adding adverbs to our writing to make our sentences more interesting.
And to wrap things up, we made these bright and cheerful suns!
Today we started our Cinco de Mayo celebrations with some fun facts about Cinco de Mayo and how it is celebrated.
If you are anything like me, then maybe you have waited until the very last minute to get Teacher Appreciation gifts together. I whipped these tags up Sunday after Church and made a quick trip to the good 'ol Wal-Mart! You can download them for free on my Facebook fan freebie page!
....and to show you all how much my heart APPRECIATES you, I've got my store on sale. I hope that you feel the love this week because you deserve it ALL!
Love you all dearly.
